Spending the week at my parents while I finish writing my anthropology thesis. My parents: extremely morally uptight (as in, they’d faint if the word “sex” came up in conversation). I’m watching this in the living room with the volume down low but apparently not low enough for my mother comes running in saying, “Oh, is that Star Trek??” I pause the video just as the audience is taking their clothes off.
Funny again although I sort of missed the running gag comments on how Brent is hated. Of course I wonder how anyone could hate Brent and why they do etc. I look forward to the next installment.
Subject matter and writing is very important, and it’s at a very low level here in Episode 3. But I have to admit it’s woven into the whole concept of the series, which is functioning more like a pretext for talking dirty. Brent’s name is the white scarf that has been taken off now. It’s just not funny. Too bad. What a shame.
Wendy,
As the ONLY person with subjectively-shallow and negative comments, it is CLEARLY obvious you are a professional writer with an honorary degree in limiting your sense of humor.
Subject matter and writing IS very important, the series IS definitely very humorous and far more cerebral than you give credit for.
YOU over simplify the series to the point of making an unsubstantiated and simply silly claim that the series “is functioning more like a pretext for talking dirty.”
I am highly intelligent, substantiated for ONE, by my registered membership in Mensa, IF the series WAS a simple vehicle to just “talk dirty,” I WOULD NOT find it so totally amusing OR WELL WRITTEN.
Saying the words “balls” and “scrotum” IS NOT talking “dirty” UNLESS you were brought up in a fucking Nunnery. You NEED a sample of talking dirty.. take a close listen to A.D.Clay’s material.
Mr.Spiner performs so wonderfully “out of the character” that we all know and love him for, creating a MUCH higher level of hilarity and endless possibilities for different styles and levels of humorous “intercourse.” lol
OMFG!! I just talked dirty!!! I just said “intercourse!”
Mr.Spiner’s name IS NOT comparable “to a white scarf that has been taken off now”… ACTUALLY the white scarf is the set of humor blinders that you currently have tightly wrapped around your skull which desperately NEEDS to be taken off. OR your white scarf metaphor could ALSO be that you were ignorant to the fact that humor comes in MANY shapes, sizes, forms, flavors, and words… and Mr.Spiner’s show has very effectively ripped the blinders from your eyes, with you, no doubt, kicking and screaming the whole way…
It is just sad, you lack either a wide sense of humor or the intelligence to comprehend and appreciate the show’s… or both.
Too bad. What a shame.
If your reply to Wendy was on facebook, I would “like” it one hundred times over! Well said my friend! That made me laugh and also feel sorry for Wendy all at the same time; that’s how awesome your statement was!
Hi Shawn, My comments, favorable and critical, are about the show. Also, Brent wants his fans to be respectful of one another. Please honor his wishes.
Hi, I don’t aggree with Wendy’s opinion about the episode(s). But I agree with Wendy in her last answer here. I think it isn’t Brent’s or anyone’s intention to have any wars here on this(!) page. I think it’s just the wrong place. I think that every opinion should be treated with respect, even if you don’t like this opinion. It’s like in politics, different opinions exist there, too. CAPITALS in a context of sharp discussion stand for screaming. My ears hurt. It’s okay if Brent or Dakota or Tommy or someone else other in the series screams. But really… here on this page… from Fans? If people are really trolling, it will be under the control of the admin of this webpage and he published the rules already in the forum of this page. I trust the admin here. The rest should do that, too.
It ALWAYS blows my mind when people who can dish it out, Just CANT take IT!!!
Guess what? “CAPITALS in the CONTEXT of DISCUSSION” stands for ONLY simple EMPHASIS to ME… is totally subjective and DEFINITELY does not represent “screaming”…
But JUST as a medium in which to convey the way I speak.. with emphasis on CERTAIN words, HIGHLIGHTED to convey the tone, or the EMPHASIS I place, on WHAT I am saying…
YES you SHOULD trust the admins..
Before I submitted a single letter…
I READ the forum rules ENTIRELY…
AND, as you see, my comment WAS admitted,
In FACT, tacitly APPROVED by the admins…
SO MUCH for your OWN perceived and self-announced forum rules..
I WILL reply when I read someone saying something ridiculous…
JUST because someone has an opinion, DOES NOT mean it is right, OR mean that it deserves “respect”, I am SURE there are MANY people who do not believe MY opinion has ANY merit, and is not worthy of respect…GUESS WHAT!!!… I dont care and I just live with it!! lol
Recently after suffering a series of horrible WRONGS… With NO ONE coming to help… I have become VERY publicly vocal about righting wrongs… BECAUSE… because if NO one does it… NO one will…
Sorry, but I say, that nasty or negative opinions of the show are not needed NOR of any intrinsic value… OTHER than to satisfy some sort of morale outrage you possess..
At the VERY START Hitler was perfectly happy that most of Europe stood back and respected his opinion… allowing him free reign…
UNTIL it was the freedom of THEIR OWN opinions that became threatened…
Let me quote “Martin Niemöller”;
“First they came for the communists,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.”
So NOW I NEVER keep my MOUTH SHUT when I see a wrong!!!
Whether it be something simple as a comedy show or as serious as a near fatal accident…
Hi Chronnick, My comments, favorable and critical, are about the show. Also, Brent wants his fans to be respectful of one another. Please honor his wishes.
I will say exactly what I think of each episode that I choose to comment on, just like others here are getting to do, including those who have also criticized the show in some way.
After the old definition, captials stand for screaming. I use the Internet since BTX (forerunner of the Internet). I’m not new in the internet. You can test it, too: Just send such a letter to your boss and you won’t have your job for a long time.
What I tried to tell: People should prevent to use captials in forums, chats and so on. Because it just looks rude. There are exceptions where you can use capitals. For example if you need to attract attention. For example: ATTENTION!!! Otherwise the people will always think that you’re screaming which is rude. From my side, I won’t answer such comments then, too. Because my eyes hurt then, too.
I laughed but not as much as I did at the previous episodes. Interested in seeing where Brent and Dakota’s relationship goes. Looking forward to next week’s installment.
I think that the English language/version may sound funnier for people outside of English-speaking countries. I love the whole situation that everyone wants to get naked while Brent only wants to teach acting. I also admire that the people could get unclothed/clothed so fast. I also think that season2 is better than season1.
Well, after I have already translated some parts… I think that it is really a very funny episode. I do really like this episode. You all (the Fresh Hell production team) are a bit filthy/obscene. But I like it. I really think this episode is hilarious. I agree with dbg11111. I also had to laugh during the translation. P.S. I can understand Brent Spiner. I believe Tommy was the highlight then. If I were Brent, I would have killed him. LOL. *waits for episode 4*
Hey Brent it’s Jeremy from twitter *waves* I only just now got around to watching the series (sorry), but I really like it A LOT! I hope it gets popular enough to warrant making more & longer eppisodes or even to get made for TV/Cable. Good luck in the future. P.S. the out-takes & deleted reel is funny too 8^)
Okay this one had me laughing a lot! Great job everyone. So far the last two episodes were the funniest to me. Ball jokes are always good laughs! Can’t wait for the next one! Brent looked funny with the white pashmina! HAHA!
I honestly just tuned into the series recently, after seeing an article posted on treknews. I absolutely love it, I never really thought of Brent as a comedian, but his talents seem to be vast.
Props buddy, very impressive, and very funny. Me and my fiancee are both huge trek fans, and will be following the series very closely for as long as it’s being made. We are very low income, and also really appreciate the series being free to watch, as we can’t afford cable in this economy. Thank you Mr. Spiner
To boot, signed merchandise for such an insanely cheap price? Come on, that’s almost a service to your fans. When we can afford it, we will be purchasing the signed poster & shirt, and will proudly display them in our apartment in NY. Brent, among many other of his colleagues from TNG, are not just exceptional actors in star trek, but have gone forward to have very impressive acting careers, and every time I see Brent, Patrick, Wil, or any members of the cast of my favorite (yes, hands down, fav.) TV series, I feel a happiness I almost can’t explain… however sad or creepy that sounds.
As a child, TNG helped instill inside my small puerile mind, ideals of equality, amongst many others, that I’ve carried with me through life. My childhood otherwise was very traumatic, I have childhood amnesia for the majority of it, but I never forgot those episodes. That lasting impression may sound off, or sad, but when your a small child, Trek can seem like much more than just a TV show, but more of an ideal for a better way of life, as has been said time, and time again.
Thank you again Brent, finding this series has really made my week, and when your poor, you enjoy the small victories .
The extras did a really great job; particularly the girl in the olive shirt, her facial expressions were perfect. It’s nice to see everyone on the set being given the room to act to their full ability. So often, extras seem to be confined by mainstream hollywood, and only the main characters are allowed to stretch their legs.
Does Brent read these? Do the other actors and writers and producers read these? Is it not enough to know there are many comments posted? After all, ratings are all that matters. Applause and a packed house are all the comment that is needed. Every single opinion out there is valid but at the same time like someone describing a dream, “the dullest thing in the world”.
Season 2 is HILARIOUS. The Episode very surprising. I LOVE IT !!!!
errrr… my biggest problem, having the only place i can watch this be in a public library…
hated that damn scarf, glad you took it off! LOL
and HEY! Dakota can act!
there were a couple of edit jumps, not sure if that was the video or the web page acting goofy.
and again with the balls, not my cup of, well, anything.
Loved the little speech though, you need to do more of those… too funny.
looking forward to next one.
toooooo funny!!!! I loved it! MORE! *lol*
Bwa hahahaha! I will never look at Vork the same way again.
Spending the week at my parents while I finish writing my anthropology thesis. My parents: extremely morally uptight (as in, they’d faint if the word “sex” came up in conversation). Classically awkward… but oh so good.
I wish you could hear the big belly laughs! This is a lot of fun – I can’t wait to see the next epi. Love you, Brent!

Very funny episode. Sex sells. Season 2 much better than season 1 so far. Ps. Scrotum exercises don’t work.
Still hilarious as ever! Scrotum exercise? LOL, exaggerating!
These keep getting better and better. I laughed a lot with this episode. Thanks for posting!
I laughed but not as much as I did at the previous episodes. Interested in seeing where Brent and Dakota’s relationship goes. Looking forward to next week’s installment.
Love the ball jokes. Keep ‘em coming. Would like to hear more about Mr. Stewart’s pair, would that be possible?

Season 2 Episode 3 great ideas for this world!
I agree 100%, hopefully more people view this,’liked’.
